Sonic Free Riders for Kinect

Sonic Free Riders

Sonic Free Riders brings the classic go kart racing game to a new level. Plus, using the new Xbox Kinect system, it will get very gamer off of the couch.

Because of the Xbox Kinect add on the game is played without a traditional controller. Instead, the Kinect’s built in camera senses the players motions to control the game.

In Sonic Free Riders you can play as any of you favorite characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog world. Similar to the classic go kart games, you will be racing against other popular characters. One main difference, however, is that instead of a four-wheeled kart, you will be gliding around on a jet-powered hover board that looks and reacts similar to a skateboard.

The Kinect system technology allows the game to be controlled intuitively using your body. You can lean forward and backward, just like on a real skateboard, to control the turning of your character. Similarly, a kicking motion will increase speed, just like pushing off the ground on a skateboard. Or, if you pick up a missile power up you can make a throwing motion with your hand to launch it at an opponent. Jumping while you character is mid air also allows you to perform tricks!

The characters also have special powers that set them apart from each other. Knuckles, for instance, can break through walls to create shortcuts. Different boards will also give you different advantages and there are numerous combinations to experiment with.

Sonic Free Riders can be played in both a single and multiplayer mode for racing alone or with friends.
