Thanks to the Kinect camera technology, Dance Central brings each individual’s dance movements to the television screen. There is no need to use a remote control, like with other gaming systems. The Kinect system recognizes full body movements and translates that to the screen with the Dance Central software. This new title is great for the beginning or experienced dancers. Users can choose to be taught each dance with the Break It Down program, which is a step by step way to learn each dance, or dancers can choose to just start right with the choreography and discover as they go.
Like other Kinect dance games, Dance Central scores the performer throughout the routine and gives a final score for how well a person is able to master the moves that go along with each song. During each routine, the game shows a dancer who’s movements you will need to mimic in order to score well in the game. Dance Central features a multiplayer option, so that friends can compete alongside one another.
Dance Central is being released with 32 different songs to go along with the over 600 movements that the program integrates into 90 different routines. The wide variety of artists makes Dance Central a game that appeals to a large market. The game includes old favorites like “Brick House,” by the Commodores and new tracks like Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.”
