Kinect Games – The Remote-less Revolution!
Just when you thought the Wii was the ultimate gaming experience, along comes Microsoft with the release of Xbox Kinect for XBox 360. Formerly known as “Project Natal”, the new Kinect XBox along with a bevy of new XBox Kinect games will now be able to provide gamers with a whole new life-like gaming experience. This new technology works with every Xbox 360 and is not only fun but also easy to use.
Unlike any other video game technology on the market, the Kinect allows users to play games on their Xbox 360 without even having to use a controller. Players become one with their game with this new intuitive and invisible technology. There are no complicated gizmos and gadgets, and no time spent trying to figure out how to use the controller. With the new Kinect technology, the person playing the game is the controller. This new gaming experience is based on your movements and actions, including your facial expressions and even your voice. Microsoft looks like they have something here that will basically transform the way people play video games.
But, it is not just about the new Kinect XBox games, there are also a number of new features and upgrades coming as well. The new Xbox 360 will be Kinect ready as soon as it comes out of the box. It features a new design that is sleek and bold and has a new glossy black finish. It also comes with built in Wi-Fi and a 250GB hard drive and is amazingly quiet. The Kinect technology is also going to affect the way Xbox Live is used. By simply using the wave of a hand users will be able to navigate menus. They will also be able to use their voice to make selections as well.
Another amazing feature of this technology is the Xbox LIVE Video Kinect. From the comfort of your living room users will be able to chat live using MSN Messenger or even be able to chat with each other from one Xbox 360 to another. The built in “Autozoom Focus” that comes with the Kinect technology will keep you in the frame automatically by following and finding you whenever you move.
The World Premier of Project Natal, or Kinect, was recently shown on MTV and Nick at Nite. The Kinect sensor will require 175MB of memory and will be available to the general public in November of 2010. Kinect games will also be available at that time, and by taking a look at these it can help in understanding how this new controller free technology is going to work. There are currently eight games that will be released for Xbox 360 Kinect: Dance Central, Kinectimals, Kinect Sports, Kinect Joy Ride, Your Shape, Kinect Adventures, Zumba Fitness, and Sonic Freeriders.
It was only a matter of time before the Wii had some competition, and the PS3 Move was going to supply that. However, only a few short months ago no one would have imagined that a there would be a controller free interactive gaming system like the Xbox 360 Kinetic. While the PS3 Move and the Wii will likely continue to be among the most popular game systems available, this new technology by Microsoft will present a choice that many serious gamers will not want to live without.
